Fresh Cranberry Salad

1 bag (12 oz.) fresh cranberries
1 can (15 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained
½ cup sugar
2 cups miniature marshmallows
8 oz Cool Whip

Freeze cranberries, then blend in blender til chopped into fine pieces.  Mix pineapple, sugar and chopped cranberries, let stand for 1 hour.  Add Cool Whip and marshmallows.  Chill overnight.  This recipe can be served frozen if a firmer consistency is desired; place in a shallow dish if serving frozen, and thaw for 15-30 minutes before serving.

Tip:: Cranberries are easier to blend when frozen, and a good blender will be helpful.  The noise level is rather high when blending frozen cranberries!
